01Who we are and scope
Kairn is an online research and idea-validation service operated from Singapore. This policy applies to Kairn's public website, member workspace, community polls, Founder research, communications, and related services.
For questions or requests about personal data, contact Kairn's Data Protection Contact at [email protected].
02Personal data we collect
We collect information you provide, including your username, email address, region, professional skills or occupations, hobbies or interests, social-media handle when you request a promotion, and messages sent to Kairn.
When you use the service, we also process poll and project content, survey questions, responses, response selections, project links or descriptions, participation history, points activity, membership status, and launch or testing requests.
We collect limited technical and security information such as IP address, device and browser information, timestamps, authentication events, and service logs. Stripe processes payment-card details; Kairn receives billing identifiers, payment status, and subscription dates rather than complete card numbers.
03How we use personal data
We use personal data to create and secure accounts; verify email addresses; match members to relevant polls, private surveys, and testing opportunities; deliver and analyze responses; administer memberships, points, promotions, and billing; provide support; prevent abuse; and meet legal obligations.
Profile information and survey participation may be used to produce aggregated distributions, such as region or skills distributions. We design these displays to communicate group patterns rather than expose a participant's complete profile.
04Poll, survey, and response visibility
Community polls may be visible to signed-in members who meet the author's audience criteria. Private Founder invalidation and validation surveys are offered only to selected, matched members and require an invitation where applicable.
Survey authors can view answers to their own research, including open-ended responses needed to assess usefulness and award eligible bonuses. Respondents do not receive access to other participants' raw answers or a Founder's private workspace. After submission, respondent history presents only limited survey details.
Content is not made publicly available as a launched product merely because it was submitted for research. Public launch is controlled by the relevant Founder, subject to Kairn's review processes.
05AI-assisted analysis
Kairn may send relevant project context, survey questions, and response text to AI service providers to identify themes, summarize evidence, and produce strategic analysis. AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate and is presented as decision support, not a guarantee or automated decision about a person.
Where practical, Kairn minimizes direct identifiers in analysis inputs. Members should not include passwords, financial information, health records, government identifiers, or other unnecessary sensitive data in polls or responses.
07Retention and account closure
We retain personal data while your account is active and thereafter only for as long as reasonably needed for service delivery, dispute resolution, security, financial records, legal obligations, and enforcement. Retention periods vary by record type.
Closing an account does not necessarily remove content already incorporated into aggregated, de-identified analysis, or records Kairn must retain. When data is no longer required for a legal or business purpose, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.
08Your choices and requests
You may update profile details in your workspace and may request access to or correction of personal data held by Kairn. You may also ask to close your account or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal may prevent Kairn from continuing to provide affected features.
Send a sufficiently detailed request from your registered email address to [email protected]. We may verify your identity and may decline or limit a request where permitted by law.
10Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Kairn, its providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email when appropriate, and the effective date above will be updated.
Privacy questions or complaints should first be sent to [email protected]. General support is available through the Contact Kairn form. Nothing in this policy limits rights available under applicable data-protection law.
